03 — LIGHT & PLACEMENT

Find Its Perfect Place.

Place your Anthurium in a warm spot with bright, indirect sunlight. Adequate sunlight encourages healthy foliage and more frequent flowering. Avoid harsh direct sunlight, which can scorch its leaves. Rotate the pot occasionally to encourage balanced growth.

04 — WATERING

A Little Care, Consistently.

Water your Anthurium when the top 1–2 inches (2.5–5 cm) of soil feel dry. Water thoroughly until excess water drains from the bottom of the pot. Keep the growing mix lightly moist but never waterlogged.

Water Tip: Water with clean, room-temperature water. Rainwater or filtered water is preferred, especially in areas where tap water quality may vary.

05 — HUMIDITY & TEMPERATURE

Create a Tropical Haven.

Anthurium thrives in a warm, humid environment. Maintain daytime temperatures between 18–27°C, ensuring temperatures do not fall below 15°C at night. It appreciates high humidity, particularly during dry winter months. Use a humidifier to maintain moisture in the air. Keep your Anthurium away from cold drafts, air-conditioning vents, and direct heat sources.

06 — FEEDING

Support Healthy Growth.

Feed your Anthurium once a month during spring and summer with a balanced liquid houseplant fertiliser, diluted according to the product instructions. Reduce or pause feeding during autumn and winter.

07 — Keeping Your Plant at Its Best

Care That Keeps It Thriving.

Soil

Anthurium grows best in a loose, airy, well-draining growing mix. Use a quality indoor plant mix with added orchid bark and perlite to improve aeration and drainage. Avoid dense soil that retains excessive moisture.

Pruning & Maintenance

Remove yellowing, damaged, or dead leaves by cutting them close to the base with clean, sharp scissors. Remove faded flowers and their stems to encourage fresh growth. Gently wipe the leaves with a damp, soft cloth to keep them clean and dust-free.

Repotting

Repot your Anthurium every 2–3 years, or when its roots begin to outgrow the pot. Choose a pot slightly larger than the current one, with drainage holes, and use fresh, airy growing mix. Spring is the ideal time to repot.

08 — TROUBLESHOOTING

Read the Signs.

Your Anthurium's leaves and flowers can reveal when its growing conditions need attention. Learn to recognise the signs and respond with the right care.

Yellowing Leaves

Yellow leaves may indicate overwatering, poor drainage, or insufficient light. Check the soil moisture and ensure excess water can drain freely. Occasional yellowing of older leaves is also part of the plant's natural growth cycle.

Brown Leaf Tips or Edges

Brown or crispy edges may result from low humidity, inconsistent watering, excessive direct sunlight, or mineral buildup. Maintain consistent soil moisture, provide suitable humidity, and consider using filtered water.

Flowers Losing Colour or Fading

Anthurium flowers naturally fade as they age. However, premature fading may be associated with insufficient light, watering problems, or environmental stress. Provide bright indirect light and maintain consistent growing conditions. Remove spent flowers to keep the plant looking tidy.
