01 — GET TO KNOW IT

Meet Your Plant.

Meet the Madagascar Dragon Tree, an elegant indoor plant admired for its slender woody stems and graceful crowns of narrow, arching leaves edged with rich reddish tones. Its sculptural silhouette and distinctive foliage bring height, movement, and refined greenery to interior spaces.

Native to Madagascar, this resilient plant is valued for its adaptability and relatively low-maintenance nature, making it a beautiful choice for both contemporary interiors and thoughtfully styled spaces.

02 — AT A GLANCE

Your Care Essentials.

03 — LIGHT & PLACEMENT

Find Its Perfect Place.

Madagascar Dragon Tree thrives in bright to medium indirect sunlight. A position near a bright window with filtered natural light encourages healthy growth and helps maintain the rich colour of its foliage.

It can tolerate lower-light conditions, although growth may become slower and foliage less dense. Variegated or red-edged foliage benefits from brighter indirect sunlight to maintain its colour.

Avoid prolonged exposure to harsh direct afternoon sunlight, which can scorch the leaves.

Placement tip: Rotate the pot occasionally to encourage balanced growth and an even distribution of foliage.

04 — WATERING

A Little Care, Consistently.

Madagascar Dragon Tree prefers its soil to dry between waterings and is particularly sensitive to overwatering.

Allow approximately 50–75% of the soil to dry before watering again. Water thoroughly until excess water drains through the drainage holes, then empty the saucer.

During warmer months, check soil moisture regularly. Reduce watering in autumn and winter as growth slows and the soil takes longer to dry.

Watering tip: Avoid keeping the soil constantly wet. Prolonged moisture can lead to root rot and leaf drop.

Water Tip: Water with clean, room-temperature water. Rainwater or filtered water is preferred, especially in areas where tap water quality may vary.

05 — HUMIDITY & TEMPERATURE

Create a Tropical Haven.

Madagascar Dragon Tree adapts well to average indoor humidity and does not require particularly humid conditions.

It prefers temperatures between 18–27°C. Protect it from cold drafts, sudden temperature fluctuations, and direct airflow from heating or air-conditioning units.

Routine misting is unnecessary. Consistent indoor conditions and good air circulation are more beneficial for maintaining healthy foliage.

06 — FEEDING

Support Healthy Growth.

Feed your Madagascar Dragon Tree with a balanced liquid houseplant fertiliser approximately every four to six weeks during spring and summer, following the product's dilution instructions.

Reduce or pause feeding during autumn and winter when growth naturally slows.

Avoid excessive fertilisation, as a build-up of mineral salts can contribute to brown leaf tips and foliage damage.

07 — Keeping Your Plant at Its Best

Care That Keeps It Thriving.

08 — TROUBLESHOOTING

Read the Signs.

Even with attentive care, Madagascar Dragon Tree may occasionally show signs of stress. Understanding these common issues can help you identify their causes, adjust growing conditions, and maintain its graceful foliage.
