🔆 Light
Bird of Paradise prefers bright direct light. It can adapt to medium light, but growth may slow.

Give your plant a turn every few days to expose all sides to light for even growth from all sides.

💧 Water
Water when the top 50% of the soil is dry. Water until liquid flows through the drainage hole at the bottom of the pot and discard any water that has accumulated in the saucer.

To give your plant the absolute best, room-temperature rainwater and bottled spring water are your best options. Any water containing sugar or salt will hurt your plant!

☁️ Humidity
Appreciates the occasional misting using filtered-water, which also helps remove the dust from its glossy dark leaves.

🌡️ Temperature
Prefers average indoor room temperatures (18-26°C). Avoid placing your plants near heating and air conditioning sources.

🧴️ Food
Feed once a month during the spring and summer with a liquid fertilizer for indoor plants.

🐾 Toxicity
Mildly toxic to humans and pets. Ingestion may cause mouth and stomach irritation.

➕ Additional Tips
If the leaves begin to turn brown along the edges, it may be caused by chemicals in your tap water. Use filtered water, or leave tap water in an open container overnight before watering to allow some of the chemicals to evaporate.

⛔ Do Not Overwater! This will cause leaf drop and root rot that eventually could kill the plant. The worst thing you can do regarding watering is "give it too much".


⛔ Make sure your plant is not placed near Heat or AC source. It is best to keep consistent room temperature throughout the seasons and not turn off Heat or AC when away or traveling. The best temperature ratio for almost any plant is (15°C-24°C).
