☘ Origin: Tropical Asia
☘ Family: Araceae
☘ Botanical Name: Aglaonema
☘ Common Name: Chinese Evergreen
Symbolism: The Chinese Evergreen foliage represents purity, nature and the positive energy it radiates.
Prefers bright indirect light, and it can adapt to low light conditions.
Water when the top 50% of the soil is dry, and discard any water that has accumulated in the saucer.
It can survive in a low humidity environment but will thrive with higher humidity levels. Mist the leaves 2-3 times a week, place a humidifier nearby, or use a pebble tray to raise the humidity.
Prefers temperatures between (18-24°C). Avoid cold drafts and sudden temperature changes.
Feed once a month during the spring and summer with a especial fertilizer for indoor plants.
Moderately toxic to pets and humans. Typically, ingestion will cause mouth and stomach irritation and possible vomiting.
If you notice the tips or edges of your plant’s leaves are turning brown, often with a yellowish hue at the edge, it could be due to your tap water. Allow your tap water to sit out overnight before watering so the chlorine and fluoride can evaporate. Alternatively, you can water with filtered water or rainwater. Remove any yellow leaves to keep your plant strong and growing.
● Do Not Overwater! This will cause leaf drop and root rot that eventually could kill the plant. The worst thing you can do regarding watering is "give it too much".
● Make sure your plant is not placed near Heat or AC source. It is best to keep consistent room temperature throughout the seasons and not turn off Heat or AC when away or traveling. The best temperature ratio for almost any plant is (15°C-24°C).
