Hyacinth is the flower of the sun idol Apollo and is a symbol of peace, commitment and beauty, but also of power and pride. The hyacinth is often found in Christian churches as a symbol of happiness and love.

Name Story

Regarding its common name hyacinth, it comes with a legend. In Greek mythology, Hyakinthos was a young man admired by Apollo and Zephyr but he was killed by a discus in a jealousy fight between the two. The flower was allegedly named after him when it sprang from his blood.

Feng Shui

According to Feng Shui symbolism, both the beauty and the flowers themselves symbolize good luck. Furthermore, flowers possess positive energy and have powerful healing qualities. Pretty amazing considering the flower itself has a relatively short life span.
